Update
We are enjoying our time here in upstate NY and our hiatus from the Atlanta heat and thick air. I will be here for a little more than 2 more weeks with the little ones. Duff heads back in about a week. We've said several times already that there couldn't be a better vacation for us at this point in our lives. We are pretty much taken care of at our folks' houses and have a lot of help with the kids. Duffy has been able to hit the golf course a few times and I've been getting in daily walks/runs. The weather has been pretty drizzly and rainy and I LOVE it. The temp is in the 70's and even though we've had a week of clouds, I haven't tired of it yet. I don't think I would even be going outside of the house if we were in Atlanta with the consistent 90+ degree days. I have started to miss home, but know that I'll have plenty of that the rest of the year, so I am just going to be thankful for each day that we are here. Some highlights so far have been...
-spending time with Duffy's sister and brothers
-Owen and Caroline getting to know their cousins Ellie, Abby, and Julia better
-camping in the Adirondacks and swimming in the lake (it made me forget I was pregnant. It has been confirmed for me that swimming in a lake is one of my top 3 favorite things in life to do, if not #1).
-watching the Braves close the gap with the Mets
-Seeing how much the kids love spending time with their grandparents (in the garden with Grandpa B., reading books with Grandma S in the fort)
-Having most of our life's stresses greatly reduced has also allowed Duffy and I some much needed time to reconnect and rejuvenate.
I am unable to upload pictures from this computer, but will do so soon.
